Casual

Sometimes comfort trumps figure flattery.  And Saturday was one of those days.  For most of my adult life, I have focussed on enhancing the positives and playing down my full bust. However as I become older, (hopefully) wiser, and perhaps more at peace with my body, there are days when simply being comfortable in, and happy with, what I am wearing is enough.

oversized top : kmart
ponte skinny pants : target
booties : rivers
clutch : myer

Light colours on my top half do tend to accentuate my bust and can make me look a little bigger than I am.  BUT I love this silvery grey marle top, and it's the weekend with nothing to do but some general running around, and housework, so in this instance I am happy to sacrifice a little figure flattery.

nail polish : lacura 103 (purple)
this is one coat, needs two

Is figure flattery always at the forefront of your mind when dressing, or are there times when you  allow yourself a reprieve and not worry too much?

Gifted

Life is busy at the moment and I am struggling to think about outfits in advance let alone photograph them but here's a quick couple of pics of todays outfit.

coat : limited editions
oversized topper : cotton on
 shirt : brown sugar
ponte pants : filo
boots : spurr
bag : stella mccartney for Target

The light blue pants were a gift and I don't wear a lot of light colours, but rather than have them languish in the closet I decided to give them a try.  They seemed like a good choice to wear with my new white boots as these too have been sitting in my wardrobe for a couple of months while I waited for the cooler weather, and considered just how to wear them.  Ultimately I see the white boots with black skinny pants as I love the high contrast of black and white, but this low constrast combination was a nice way to ease into actually wearing the boots.

Not sure if I would repeat this exact combination but I did feel good, a couple of friends were complimentary of the comibination and it's fun to step out of your comfort zone, even just a little.
The oversized topper and slim bottoms is a pretty standard look for me but the lighter colours here are not my norm.
