Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Happy Sunday everyone!  I must confess to being a blogger noob, but I understand Google Reader ceases to exist this weekend so I am keen to ensure you can find me after the weekend.

So you can follow me through Bloglovin' (which is how I follow many of you) or email or Google Friend Connect, both of which you can find on my sidebar.

As soon as I work our how, I will be adding the Bloglovin button to the side bar too.

In the meantime, it has been a lean week for outfits as work has really eaten into photo time, so, for your viewing pleasure this weekend, here is a very random selection:)

The clouds over us were beautiful late afternoon.  This doesn't quite capture it but does give you an idea.

Worn to work for meetings at Head Office this week.  I love a Chanel vibe and this jacket is warm enough for outdoors (I add a big scarf) and comfortable enough to leave on in the office.

jacket : katies
blouse : harris scarfe
pants : target
boots : rivers patent leather booties (not shown)

This outfit features a new tunic which is yet to have it's first outing.  My desire to was to create a structured / unstructured look.  Hoping to try this out sometime this week and see if it looks as good on me as it does on "Miss Singer".

tunic : yvonne black
jacket : rockmans
skirt : katies
footwear : to be decided

And finally, I love ponchos and garments that just fall and drape over the body.  I bought this a few weeks back and wore it for the first time today.

poncho : lilia
long sleeve drape tee : kmart
skinny jeans : katies
suede, wedge heel boots : rivers

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have had good week.  One week and two days left of full time work and then I should be back to more regular posts.    And if the Bloglovin button isn't showing up on the sidebar yet... I promise it will... just as soon as I work it out lol!

Black & White

It may not be difficult to guess that black and white is a favourite combination for me.  I enjoy how crisp and fresh it looks and I generally feel more comfortable in my neutrals than I do in colours.

These are two outfits that I have worn recently.  Both are work combinations which I feel communicate "professionalism" - I don't work in a corporate setting -  but still have a little twist which allows my personality to show through.

oversized top : cotton on
pencil skirt :  rockmans
opaque tights : ?
booties : hush puppies

animal print booties : rmk
necklace : lovisa
ring : purchased overseas
earrings : myer

collarless jacket : rockmans
satin blouse : target
pants : katies
booties : rmk
The RMK booties are not getting out enough yet, but I have been advised to treat them as a "neutral" and wear them with everything!  And I think I will.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you don't mind the multiple outfits.  I am working full time at the moment so not quite managing daily pics or regular posts.  Only two more weeks.... not that I'm counting:)

Grey... Part Two

Work has got the better of me and I have had little time to blog, so to make up for it here are a couple of outfits since we last met.

Grey and black has been my preferred palette recently.

And there is more grey to come!  Bought a gorgeous drapey tunic in a soft grey today. Hope to show you soon.

Stripes

I love stripes on others but only have a few items with stripes that I enjoy the look of on moi.
This is one of them.

Asymetric hem top : kmart
skirt : target
booties : rivers

I bought this skirt last year after seeing the this Bailey 44 Tiered Striped Dress from Anthropology.  I tried an Aussie version of the dress but I found it was just "too much" on short me, so I was quite pleased when I came across this skirt at our Target.  It was orginally a midi length and it languished in the wardrobe for a while until I I took to the already raw edged hem with the scissors and shortened it.  Now it is in regular rotation!

I find the diagonal stripes a little more interesting than horizontal stripes and they have a very flattering effect.   The overlapping is a nice touch and again adds interest and visual texture.

coat : limited editions
bag : equip
pendant : gift from hubby

Thanks for dropping by.

Grey

This week was a bit of a grey week... style wise!

sleeveless jacket : walker & beck
long sleeve tee :giordano
skinny jeans : katies
booties : spurr

As a change from my all and 'almost'  black outfits,  I found my self drawn to greys and whites this week.  One of my goals for the week was to try and get these white booties into regular rotation.  I have worn them once here, but found I kept popping them on and then swapping them out for my black booties.  But this morning, I put them on... and quickly left the house!

jacket : table eight
sleeveless blouse : target
skinny jeans : katies
booties : hush puppies
My birthday is this week and I had a lovely early birthday gift arrive yesterday.  Wore my gift today and loved them.  Can you guess?  I will try and post the new addition to my wardrobe later in the week.

Hope you are having a great weekend.
