Daily!

Along with taking my blog photos, I also try to take a daily photo of my outfits before for I head out each morning.  It's amazing what I learn and my daily photo has been the catalyst for a number of recent Ebay sales!

As a result of some serious problems with my laptop, and time constraints, today's post contains some quick morning snaps of a few of my outfits from the past week.

tube dress : kmart
top : complexgeometries
sandals : django & juliette

silky tee : target
slouchy pants : sportsgirl
open toe booties : rubi

open weave sweater ; target
crop pants : rivers
sandals : myer
bag : things terrific

I wonder, do you take daily outfit photos.  Do you find them helpful? What do you do when the mirror says one thing and the camera another?
Thanks for dropping by.
Have a wonderful week!
xxx Deborah

  1. I have scrapped a lot of garments after seeing them in a photo and there are many photos I don't use....this is helpful for non-bloggers to do in order to see their styles from a different angle...I do love all of your looks here...and you gave me an idea for my white jeans!!

    1. So true Pam. I tend to think the camera doesn't lie.. I wish it did. I find in particular it helps me to see if the proportions of an outfit work and if the outfit really flatters me.

  4. Black and white seem to be the perfect thing for spring, and these outfits are great! I don't usually have time to take outfit photos every day, but I'm sure I'd learn a lot if I did.

    1. Val taking regular photos has been quite instrumental in helping me define the elements that I think make up my style signature. Don't tell anyone but there has been the occasional morning my young Master 11 has been late for school because Mum needed to quickly get her outfit photo lol

  5. I do take pre-photos usually before I do a post, just to see. Isn't it strange how you can see your outfit better in a picture? I find I can see everything better in a picture, that includes hair and makeup too.

Lovely outfits here! I think your hair is just perfect for your clean styling. Did you see this in the pictures on the blog, to make the change to shorter? I love the black and white with the cross body bag and flat shoe. Interesting detail on the top in the first picture. The red lips are right on!

  6. Ann it's funny what we can miss just looking in the mirror. The top in the first picture is by complexgeometries. They are Canadian and make the most amazing garments. I also have a dress of theirs. The top (and the dress) can be worn a number of different ways making for a very versatile garment. Re the hair... I think outfit photos did help me work towards making the change. I kept looking at the my outfits which I think (hope) are modern and relatively minimal, and I just felt that my hairstyle wasn't keeping up.

  7. I don't take daily photographs, but I've been thinking about it. Visiting from 40plusStyle. Nice outfits.

  8. I've bookmarked several of your seasonal posts this year as I am so taken with your approach to summer dressing. Hope you don't mind ... I'm a willing and enthusiastic student. You look fabulous in every frame. And you know I love your hair ... every time I see you wearing it this way, I run into the bathroom to try pushing it back on one side. I'll photograph it one day!

    1. Yes, it's a misery here. And humid! I'm not from the southern US, where we live now, and I know I hate it so much because I wasn't born and raised in this awful climate. I'm a southern girl, but from southern California ... another whole world.

  10. First of all, I love all of your looks. As others have mentioned, you look fabulous in each and every outfit. As for taking daily photos of your outfits - brilliant! I'm certainly no stranger to being in front of the camera ( I was a former TV News anchor and reporter) but this idea really makes sense and can teach some valuable style lessons. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Mary, thank you! Working on screen you would certainly know things can look different on camera. I have styled people for a music video and for a talk show and I always photograph the outfits and then also check them on screen before we make the final selection. It works a treat. Sometimes I just use my iPhone :)

  11. I think this is such a good idea and I can see how it would be very helpful in developing style. Unfortunately, I lack the discipline, but I admire yours! These are all lovely outfits. I particularly like the top in #1 and the slouchy sweater in #3 is fantastic, especially paired with the crispness of the white bottoms.

    1. Thanks so much Sharon. I wonder if it is discipline or vanity lol. And I hate to admit it my young Master 11 has been late for school once or twice because I have been fluffing around with getting an outfit pic:)

  12. Yikes, what a thought! My mirror is always so much kinder than photos! I have Dan take pictures for the blog on Sunday as we go out the door to shop for our restaurant. Sometimes on Wednesdays, but rarely any other time. Interesting to see how others approach photos and perception!
You look pretty spiffy ... you are my black and white role model!

  13. I just love your black and white style. I really need to take photos too, or at least get a full-length mirror - can't believe I don't have one! I'm pretty good at judging what shapes/silhouettes are right on me but the odd times I'll catch myself out in a reflection of a shop window and think "argh, why did I put that top on?!" :-)
