Spring Style

It is officially Spring, and that is when I particularly enjoy wearing my jackets.  I have an equal love for structured and unstructured looks, with my perfect outfit combining both elements.

Winter here is all about layering, while summer is very hot and is all about keeping it simple... minimal layers and garments with interesting drape and texture. Spring sits somewhere in between and often brings out the more classic elements in my wardrobe.

jacket : suzanne grae
tee shirt : bonds
pants : mix
flat slingbacks : rubi
earrings : equip

I wore this outfit last week for my styling job.  The pants are really too casual and need to be relegated to weekend wear.  I have been on the lookout for a good quality, well cut pair of slim leg pants for Spring/Summer... the search continues.  In the meantime, I see the jacket working well over a slouchy black pant with heels.  Even though my heels are all very comfortable, flats are the only choice when on your feet for hours shopping.

At the beginning of winter I decided I was over prints and patterns, and have very intentionally avoided buying any, but this scarf print jacket was appealing to me because of it's collarless style, draping, and I am very attracted to black and white. It could potentially be worn anywhere and will work welllover pants and dresses.

Have a stylish week.

  1. Even checked patterns are trending this AW season here, I very much prefer any type of paisley or floral prints and especially in neutral colours. That's why I love your very stylish jacket!
I am also a great fan of sling pumps, both with a low or a high heel.
And I agree, black slim leg pants are essential all year round.

    Have a lovely weekend,

  2. Your jacket has a beautiful and versatile pattern and cut. I like the way it is open in the front, interesting design. Pretty with your earring and shoes. It will be fun to see what you wear in the summer. This jacket looks like a good addition to the wardrobe.

    1. Ann, I don't love the hot weather (and it does get hot here) but this year for the first time I am actually looking forward to my summer wardrobe.... I have been watching you lovely ladies as you travelled through summer so I have loads of inspiration.

  5. Wonderful jacket! Lucky you, and smart you for thinking of a soft pant with it. (My current obsession ...) So many ways to wear this beautiful print. You look springy in it!
Not a wearer of flats, but I'm looking at mid-heels ... the ones that used to be really high. Remember those? So pleased to see them back. I work and shop in heels so often, that this is a particularly nice development.
    Enjoy your springtime.
